SAIL SPORAGE ISSUES

Postby pjdavies1 » November 27th, 2014, 8:16 pm

Hi everyone, just to clarify a few points relating to the sail storage issues raised at the AGM:-

The sail rack has 10 shelves (including the floor). Each will hold 4 Sprint 15 sails comfortably, capacity 40 sails. The top shelf and floor are currently used to store sails for monohulls, etc. Hence there is capacity at the moment for 32 sails (to include the Challenger sail). As there are now 31 Sprint 15 boats in the boatpark, plus the Challenger, the sail rack is full. There was a consensus of opinion at the AGM that only one sail per boat can now be stored in the sail rack. On this basis there should be comfortable space for everyone’s Sprint 15 sails.

Therefore would all members with additional sails in the sail rack please store them elsewhere, e.g. under boat covers. This will make sail storage easier for everyone.

There is no need to take away your “one sail per boat”, as was suggested. In fact, it would be helpful if these were kept in the rack, so that I can identify problems and hopefully resolve them. I will carry out a check on the sail rack when I have finished work on the starter hut. (Any help with either of these jobs would be very much appreciated.)

If anyone doesn’t have a number tag on their sail cover, would they please see me for one down at the Club.

Thank you for your co-operation.
Phil

Just at the Club now, there are around 30 D15 sails in the racks plus a few others.
I keep a sail on my boat, what are the insurance issues? if any.

My perceptive mathematical brain tells me that leaves two in the rack - double the duty free allowance!

Removing 8 out of 10 from the RACK implies there 's stil 2 in the RACK!
But well done for setting a good example

People who spell storage with a P shouldn't get too pedantic.
