Cruise on Sunday

Postby Dreadnought » September 30th, 2013, 11:51 am

Weather and tides look perfect for a sail to Hayling Island on Sunday (6th October).

Get your jibs on and be ready to leave before 9.30am.

All welcome.

Hi there. Would this be suitable for our RS Vision and my 8 year old crew!
Thanks

Can it average 12 knots?

If not you are welcome to jump on some 15s as crew.

There will be shorter trips later on though.

Probably not, and crew Charlie is a bit new to the seas!
Keep us informed of any future trips!

Will do.

Forecast is changing all the time anyway. We might not get to the pier at this rate.

New plan.

Leave for Hayling Island at 9am Saturday.

If we make good progress then we may go to Emsworth.

Sunday looking much better for RS Visions.

12 nautical miles to the NE of Shanklin. It's the Island to the East of Portsmouth.

I think we will be lucky if we get to Bembridge.

A bit more wind on the North Island
You should really listen to your leader Erling.

He is probably the one with the compass. :geek:

Eight of us on five boats successfully reached Hayling Island in just over an hour and a half. Breakfast at JR's Diner.
