Update

Liam, Alan, Ian, Mark and any one else involved cracked on with the Buoys today.

Phil cleaned the start hut windows.

Still a number of jobs left to do, the painting in the gents is very important, help needed.

Sue and Mary kept every one supplied with tea, coffee and snacks.

Thanks to you all.

The boat parks will need to be cleaned again, due to the rough weather a while back.

Don't forget to pencil in Saturday 18th March in to your diaries for the Fitting Out Supper.

I didn't do anything today and it was very quiet, Erling wasn't down.



If I have forgotten anything I am sure I will be told.

The sea end of the boat park has not been cleaned this year so it needs doing. As Chris says the other half needs redoing again. Shouldn't take long because we did all the weeding.

Unfortunately it is full of plastic and wood blown in from the sea so it will all have to be bagged up and taken to the dump.

A good lot of work done today.
Safety boat shed repaired.
Edging along by the small boat park cleared.
Keith and his merry band of men have started on the changing room painting. (more help still needed for the painting)
The Safety Boat floor needs fitting back in to place, it has popped out again.
The girls kept everyone topped up with Tea, Coffee, Cake and Crumpets.

I am afraid that there are still jobs to be done.

The Safety Boat needs the floor boards replacing.
The Challenger needs putting back together, I have ordered a new pivot for the Centreboard, it should be here by the weekend.
The gents changing room needs finishing, otherwise it might get very cosy in the beach huts down below.
Buoys need to be put out.
Erling and I are working on a method of getting them out, hopefully.

In theory only 1 more weekend left to finish the work.

Jobs done today.

The painting should be finished for when racing starts
Keith has put a new shelf up in the Start Hut and also put new wheels on the compressor.
The Safety boats have been pulled out, checked and pumped up.
The challenger is ready to go, new pivot in the centreboard, put back together.
I have just got to pop down and fit a new elastic downhaul for the centreboard.
The buoys have been cleaned, a job that should have been done as soon as they came out of the water, as the muck would have been easier to remove.
Some numbers on the buoys may need touching up where they have been cleaned.
The Sail rack has been tidied up.
Tony has done some re programming of the start system.
Again cracking beacon butties curtesy of the Girls.

I hope you haven't cleaned the buoys too well. I don't want the old people to be able to see them.

That won't matter, managed to remove enough numbers even the young won't be able to find their way around.

Racing got off to a flying start.
The yellow streaks were on show today, including mine.
Thanks to Tony and Phil for running the safety boat and Erling and Mark for taking out the second one.
Sue played with her new toy (with great success) while Keith looked watched on.
Mary kept the troops supplied with food, cracking, my big fat friends favourite, Pasties....

Well done everyone and a big thanks to the safety guys and all on the beach helping with the safety boat. Luckily I think minimal damage, the most expensive is probably Erling glasses.
Only two boats decided to go surfing today, Tony and Liam.
Thanks to Sue (who rules the race box with a rod of iron) for doing the starting, and Mary who plies everyone with coffee and beacon butties.

Lesson learned today:
Start and run both safety boats in the compound for a while to get them warm before putting them on the beach.
