Re: My neighbour's Brand New 90hp Evinrude.
B.M.S. set the ignition timing INCORRECTLY at 4 degrees, resulting in having to "Hang on the key" to get it going.
Fitted 3/16" (sounds a bit thin to me so don't quote me on that one) fuel line instead of the manufacturer's recommended 5/8".
Didn't spot that the 'Crank Position Sensor' needed replacing, even though they'd plugged it into the diagnostic computer on two separate occasions.
Charged £190.00 for a new cowling lock down mechanism, even though it was a warrantee item, AND billed Evinrude the same amount as though they'd fitted it under warrantee.
This cocktail of errors forced the brand new outboard to adopt 'Limp Mode' in that it wouldn't rev. over 2500 rpm. :(
Corrective work was undertaken by 'Power Tech Marine' of Hayling Island. The O/B now starts on the button, and dishes out way moor fun than 2500rpm is capable of issuing.
Have you tried Kevin Mole as he's the local Suzuki bod?
Disclaimer: The above is only hear-say and conjecture from the mouth of my neighbour. Don't pillory me if anything is not provable in a court of law. However, am willing to pay quite a lot of money to have tomatoes thrown in my face by a well dressed young lady.
Any volunteers? ;)
