Ventnor Races by kind permission of Ventnor Yacht Club

The Ventnor Races will be held this Sunday. The races are for Sprint 15s in standard mode - main only, single handed, or two up with main and jib.
The first race starts at 10.30am from the Shanklin start line and will be a race to the far end of Ventnor Bay. The finish line will be marked by a buoy and the flagstaff at the Spyglass Inn.
We will go ashore briefly to show you the course for the next race which will be in Ventnor Bay. When you land at Ventnor please use the transit of Alma Road extending out to sea. This is the lane about 4/5 along the beach towards the Spyglass. There should be plenty of water over the rocks at the end of the first race but we need to be more careful later on. If in doubt sail between the boats that are aground on rocks.
After some refreshments at the Spyglass and some hopefully short speeches from the commodores there will be a race back to Shanklin.
There are four cups at stake. I guarantee I will not win any of them.
