To save all the problems let's adopt the white dots idea.
Prior to Racing, chose who is going to be the lead boat (draw numbers from a hat), that boat then tow's a string of white polystyrene dots 2 meters apart, for the rest to social distance.
That way the race can be run and results decided upon before even going out.
