America's Cup

Postby harryv » July 18th, 2015, 5:54 pm

For those people going to the America's Cup I have found a good web site with lots of information of what is going on where and when.
http://acws-portsmouth.americascup.com/en/home.html

By the way if you going with a ticket from the sailing club draw remember that they are (officially) for residents of Portsmouth. So don't bother to tell the gate people about the ferry journey. :D

Some useful local phrases to help you to enjoy your visit

Shant - alcoholic beverage
Dinlo - idiot
Squinny - to complain or someone who complains
Weee - how surprising!
Lairy - aggressive
Mush - bloke/mate
Dooes - adequate
Noice - pleasant
Daintain - down town

Watched two fantastic races today (Saturday). For anyone coming over on Sunday the best place to watch the races is to the left of Southsea castle or better still behind Southsea castle which are both outside of the fan zone. :D
