By the way...

... we moved Buoy B to where 3 was.

Hope it didn't cause any confusion.

Not a lot.....Henri and crew went past it out to sea looking for 3, and I was following. Til Brandon told me of 3's new name...... All good fun.
Some confusion also over 5 or 10 minute start time for the novices race.

Yes I heard!

The way to work out the start sequence is..

If you can see the lights:
The 10 minute light is the one on the far left of the box accompanied by an amber flashing light.

If you can't see the lights:
If the horn goes off and is not followed by another horn after a minute, then it cannot be the 5 minute. If there is a gap of 5 minutes between the horns, then the first is a 10 minute.

We took part in the Novice race on Sunday, and although we fared rather badly, we are not listed in the results. Please could you ammend for us.
Thanks

Well nobody told me about the buoys being moved and on the race instruction that I copied down the course was S, 1, 3, 7, S it was changed later, but I wasn't told.
Which normally wouldn't matter, as Im usually last, but I was second and a good few hundred metres ahead of the pack, I got to what I thought was 3 and it was B so I sailed out as far as W to try and find it, naturally I lost out

Im not sure that the Race officer new about the buoy move, until later, so Im not complaining about Keith's course.

I do not wish to make a formal protest, but another time it might be nice to be told about course changes.

I think that I ought to be compensated, with a free bottle of water (not the Ducks)

Regards

A slightly disgruntled Commodore

Have added you to the results, but I need to discuss with Keith so it may change.

If it makes you feel better, Erling, Alan, Paul and myself all knew the buoy had moved.

We did use 3 last week as well. Shame the people in those 2 races kept it secret from the commodore. :D

Have spoken to Keith and the result stands: you were third on adjusted time.

Well done!

Wow that's great, as we totally messed up the start being our first race and not fully understanding the start procedure.
Are there any more races we are eligible for?

Yes. All cup races (apart from the Sprint Cup) and all Odds and Ends races. So that is at least one race every Sunday and some Thursdays.

However, we try to keep the Ventnor races just for the standard Sprint 15 mode firstly to keep people all together and secondly to make it easier to score.
