Sport Nationals

Firstly, attendance of the Pursuit Series on Sunday is compulsory for all members with the correct number of limbs. A dim view will be taken of anybody shirking their responsibility and joining Alan in his cafe protest against ritual humiliation.

Anybody without a doctor's certificate for the Sport Nationals on the 17th-19th should put in their application form now. You can download an entry form from http://www.sprint15.com/events/EMS/even ... 20form.pdf. There is a discount before the 10th May.

If there are any members of SSC with lack of moral fibre who do not wish to partake in the regatta, Erling would like to know if people can help with the event. Please give him a call on 865012.

I'm sure Erling will correct me if I'm wrong, but:

Anyone worried about doing the Sport Nationals might like to know:
1) You don't have to trapeze - often it is faster to not bother (especially if you have a reasonable amount of ballast already!)
2) You don't have to use your jib - if it is all too much it can be furled at any time.
3) You don't have to sail single handed - you can sail 2up (but you must stick to this for the whole regatta).

I would strongly recommend less confident sailors to consider doing it - the experience gained from just taking part in this sort of event is fantastic and the opportunity to have it on your doorstep with the support of your club mates doesn't come round very often.
